From the October 1969 issue of Playboy. Who is the cartoonist in the airline ad? Definitely familiar, but I think a lot of cartoonists practiced a similar style back then. I remember seeing and liking ads of this sort as a kid.

And we have Gahan Wilson doing a full-pager, Don Ivan Punchatz illustrating an article on whether Freudian psychoanalysis was on the way out (I don’t know why he’s unraveling into psychedelic ribbons), and Charles Rodriques taking part in the Godfather-era Mafia boom (though at this point the touchstone would have been the novel, not the movie).
