Wednesday Illustrations: Robert Binks

The drawings are by Robert Binks and were done for The Old Dog Barks Backwards, a collection of Ogden Nash published in 1972. We’ll be looking at all the drawings from the book, with the first batch here and more on the way.

For “The Gossip That Never Should Be Unloosed Is Gossip That Can’t Come Home to Roost,” about the greater sportingness of gossiping about people who can find out what you said:

Finally, “From an Antique Land,” about old cars and racing drivers from Nash’s boyhood. The car model indicates the illustrator had something else in mind:
