Disney War Insignia

Just like it says. The Disney studios designed these during World War II for the use of the services. I scanned the images below from the inside front cover and the back cover of Walt Disney Comics & Stories #29, published in 1943.

From the very small print at the bottom of the page: “These War Insignia, designed by Walt Disney and his artists, are being used by many branches of the service, as well as by the American volunteers in the Chinese air service, the Eagle Squadron of the R.A.F., and the Free French forces. See them, in this and forthcoming issues.”

I don’t see which is for the guys in the Eagle Squadron, but I the love the one for the Eleventh Field Hospital. Actually, they’re all good.

Daily proverb. The rain won’t finish, the computer moves like lead, haiku is a waste.

Stan says. It’s a fright! Buy Werewolf by Night!
