The inaugural Australian Comic Arts Festival (ACAF) is looking to be held in Brisbane on June 4, 2011.

The main focus of the event (taken from their website) is “to be an ongoing event that is there to support & teach those interested in comics. The event is to allow current creators to network & exhibit, as well as to inspire people who have an interest in creating to get involved and learn some skills.”

ACAF has the support of the Australian Cartoonists Association, as well as the State Library of QLD. The event will be happening in Brisbane, at “The Edge” (the new digital culture centre part of the State Library of Queensland – http://theedge.slq.qld.gov.au )

The organisers are currently looking for expressions of interest from exhibitors:

We are asking all creators, collectives, and self-publishers interested in exhibiting at ACAF 2011 to register online via the application form initially, so that we can ensure all space is allocated correctly.

Registration closes November 30th, 2011.
Visit the ACAF website for more details.
