Japan Pop: DOA?

The creativity isn’t lacking. Japanese artists are working harder than ever to produce ever more expansive versions of their craft. What’s wrong is the delivery system.

Which reminds me: Everyone’s writing about “putting the genie back into the bottle.” Last week, it was Ruper Murdoch making a deal with Microsoft to monetize newspaper and media information. And now I read that Hulu.com, the great U.S. TV portal, has been bought by Comcast, whose executives seek the same goal.

Fact is: If you destroy consumer confidence in Internet freebies, you destroy your audience.
